With a Spellemann Award and a gold record under their belt, it became one of the most defining albums of the year. Now, 15 years later, John Olav Nilsen has gathered a new band to honor this milestone.
The lyrics and songs like “Diamanter og kirsebær,” “Hull i himmelen,” “Valiumvalsen,” “Bensinbarn,” and “Nesten som eg lever” have cemented themselves as classics in Norwegian music history. This spring, as John Olav Nilsen & Nordsjøen embark on a tour, they aim to celebrate both For sant til å være godt and their broader discography, including tracks from Nordsjøen, Det store i det små, and I liv og arbeid.
The band, led by John Olav, includes former Gjengen member Einar Vaagenes (guitar), alongside Mikael Kanstad (synth), Eirik Marinius Sandvik (guitar), Glenn Endre Bertelsen (drums), and Pablo Tellez (bass). Together, they deliver their signature style of "street pop" or "resistance pop."
