Naima Bock will perform at Bergenfest, Thursday 12th of June 2025!
Naima Bock combines her rich cultural roots and life experiences with a unique musical expression. Born in Glastonbury to a Brazilian father and a Greek mother, she spent part of her childhood in Brazil before settling in South-East London. This diverse background is reflected in her music, which draws inspiration from Brazilian rhythms, European folk melodies, and her fascination with nature and history.
After beginning her career as the bassist in the critically acclaimed band Goat Girl, Naima took a step in a new direction and created her debut album, Giant Palm. The album is a warm and inviting collection of songs, shaped through collaboration with over 30 musicians and infused with her love for community and traditional music. Her voice, known for its depth and unique character, weaves through poetic and personal lyrics, often inspired by her many travels and reflections in nature.
Naima’s music offers listeners a glimpse into both the intimate and the universal, with songs that carry stories and emotions that resonate deeply. At Bergenfest 2025, audiences can look forward to a moving and heartfelt concert experience from an artist who places both emotion and community at the heart of her artistry.
