PJ Harvey will headline Bergenfest 2024 Wednesday, June 12!

Over the course of an impressive career that now spans into its fourth decade, PJ Harvey has established herself as one of the most influential artists in the world of music. From the raw, grunge-inspired days of the 90s, to the iconic releases of recent decades, the multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, guitarist, poet, and artist Polly Jean Harvey has left indelible marks on the history of music. It all started in 1991 when the eponymous trio PJ Harvey broke through with their debut single "Dress." The following year, the debut album "Dry" was released, and Rolling Stone Magazine quickly praised her with titles such as "Best Songwriter" and "Best New Female Singer." After the release of the critically acclaimed "Rid of Me," she continued her career as a solo artist with a series of successful releases. With albums like "Is This Desire?", "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea", the brilliantly acclaimed "Let England Shake", and "The Hope Six Demolition Project", she has time and again proven her musical flair, creativity, and innovative artistiry.

After a six-year hiatus, she returned to the stage in the autumn of 2023, and if we are to believe the endless, panegyric reviews from concerts in England, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, we have an immersive and hypnotic concert to look forward to when PJ Harvey headlines Wednesday at Bergenfest 2024! The two concerts at Sentrum Scene in Oslo in October, sold out in just one minute and 44 seconds with all 3400 tickets sold out. PJ Harvey has built up an impressive career, with nominations for eight Brit Awards, seven Grammy Awards, and she is the only artist to have received the prestigious Mercury Prize twice! We are looking forward to experiencing PJ Harvey's wonderful musical catalogue at Bergenfest 2024, a festival booking we have long wished for.
