Roxette will headline Bergenfest 2025 Thursday, June 12.
In 2016, Roxette held what we believed would be their very last concerts. Therefore, we are happy to announce that the duo's frontman, songwriter, and founder, Per Gessle, is now taking Roxette's timeless hits on international tour again. Don't miss the chance to experience “Roxette in Concert” at Bergenfest on Thursday, June 12, 2025!
It has been nearly five years since Roxette lost Marie Fredriksson to cancer, but The Roxette legacy lives on, and to the delight of both old and new fans, the extensive catalog of songs will come to life again as Per Gessle brings Roxette back to the stage. Roxette was formed in 1986 by Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson. The pop duo has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and has had four number 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: “The Look,” “Listen To Your Heart,” “It Must Have Been Love,” and “Joyride.”
To carry on the Roxette legacy, Per and the Roxette band will be joined by Swedish singer and megastar Lena Philipsson on the upcoming tour.
Per says: "This is all about my Roxette songs, this huge collection of music and lyrics I’ve been writing for well over three decades. Marie will always be irreplaceable, but I’m really lucky to have found an amazing voice and brilliant performer in Lena Philipsson. I co-wrote Lena’s first major hit back in 1986, and she’s one of the brightest shining stars Sweden has ever known. I’m extremely proud she wants to join me in my journey to keep the Roxette legacy alive.”
Lena says: “I’m both excited and thrilled about embarking on this tour. I really look forward to working with Per – he is a phenomenal songwriter and an unstoppable musical force.”
The Roxette band will include Christoffer Lundquist, Magnus Börjeson, Magnus "Norpan" Eriksson, Dea Norberg, as well as the original Roxette icons Clarence Öfwerman and Jonas Isacsson.
